Fine finish carpentry, Fort Myers to Naples.
We do the work you see at eye level — trim, crown molding, interior doors, built-ins, coffered ceilings, and the fascia line Florida weather attacks first. The estimate comes from the craftsman who does the work, not a salesman.
Licensed Florida building contractor — CBC1270165. Most finish carpentry doesn't require it. We hold it anyway.
Most contractors end with the details. We start there.
The last 5% of a job is the whole job — the tight miter, the even reveal, the door that closes like it should. That is the work we choose, and the only work we do.
The craftsman quotes your job
The carpenter who does the work walks the job and writes the estimate — the same person who builds it. No commissioned salesperson between you and the work.
The craftsman · Not a salesmanAn engineer's standard
Banyan is owned by an Army Engineer Officer with a Darden MBA and a Master's in Civil Engineering in progress. We run it the way engineers build: to spec, to schedule, right the first time.
To spec · To standardScribed to fit, not caulked to hide
Florida walls are never straight. Real finish carpenters fit the wood to the wall — scribing to the surface instead of hiding the gap under a bead of caulk.

The person who quotes it is the person who builds it.
At most companies, a salesperson sells the job and a crew you've never met shows up to build it. At Banyan, the carpenter who will do the work walks your rooms, takes the measurements, and writes the estimate — then cuts and fits every piece himself.
- Florida-trained, Connecticut-sharpened. More than a decade in finish carpentry and over twenty years in the trades, including a year of custom-millwork work in New England's old houses.
- No commission layer. You talk to the craftsman, so nothing gets lost between the sale and the saw.
- Finish work, done right. We measure the job in tight joints and even reveals — the last 5% that most crews rush.
One tree. Many trunks.
In 1927 a banyan sapling was planted in Fort Myers for Thomas Edison's rubber research — a working tree, planted by makers. A century later it's the largest banyan in the continental U.S.: 74 feet tall, a canopy over an acre.
Banyans grow like no other tree — roots drop from the branches, touch ground, and become new trunks. When Hurricane Ian stripped it bare, it re-leafed within a month. That's how we're building: we grow the way our namesake does — trunk by trunk, rooted, and built to hold through the storms.
Built for Southwest Florida, storms included.
We're a focused crew based on Alico Center Road in Fort Myers, working from here to Naples. We take on a limited number of projects at a time, so every job gets the attention the details deserve. Interior finish work is most of what we do — but the fascia line outside is finish carpentry too, and in Florida it's the part the weather tests first.
